Considering the Effects of Eyebrow Restoration

Our eyebrows help complete our face. They offer us a symmetrical appearance and allow us to make many of the facial expressions of human interaction. Unfortunately the hair of the eyebrows can be finicky and, if you lose it for some reason, there are options for eyebrow restoration.
One of the leading causes of eyebrow loss is prescription medications. Just as hair is lost from the top of the head and other places on the body, chemotherapy may cause eyebrow loss. Finding the root cause of the hair loss condition will determine what form of eyebrow restoration will work best for you. If you have lost your eyebrows due to physical trauma such as an auto accident, chemical, or thermal burn, there is a very good chance that your eyebrows will grow back naturally over time. However, if the physical trauma is acute you might find you need eyebrow reconstruction.
Eyebrow restoration is not a new procedure. Over the years surgeons have used a variety of techniques to help restore partial or missing eyebrows. A few technical considerations have to be made to determine which reconstructive procedure is right for the patient.
You will likely have a choice of procedures when it comes to eyebrow restoration. One option is a transplantation of micrografts or single hairs from a donor area. You may also have a reconstructive flap or graft procedure that will place a strip of hair from a suitable area of your scalp to the eyebrow region. You will want to choose a procedure that is best for you and that is affordable. Eyebrow restoration cost is one of the major drawbacks of the procedure and will almost definitely have to be covered by the patient.
Transplant reconstruction is when a strip of skin with hair has been removed from the scalp and grafted into the prepared eyebrow site. The surgeon chooses an area from the scalp that is the appropriate texture for eyebrow hair to make it appear more natural. Another area in which eyebrows can be made from is the pedicle flap. The hair from in front of the ear is used to attach the donor graft by using an artery. Basically in this procedure the surgeon creates a subcutaneous path to help re-grow the hair.
All eyebrow restoration is going to be a transplant of a hair graft to the eyebrow site. The procedure will depend on how natural the patient wishes to look. The hair chosen for the eyebrows is going to be of finer quality. This is one reason the donor areas on the body are a bit limited. Some individuals choose a micrograft to keep a more natural appearance, allowing the graft to rebuild the entire eyebrow.
Once the area around the eyebrows has returned to normal without swelling or pain, the person can seek trimming. There is also a period of training that will be needed. Training the eyebrows means using wax or gel to get the hair to grow in the natural direction an eyebrow is normally shaped in. As with most eyebrows, eyebrows that have been restored will need to be trimmed and groomed to keep the edges sharply demarcated.
Eyebrow restoration is becoming a popular cosmetic procedure, both for medical purposes and for the rich and famous who crave the perfect face. The hair transplants can be painful however the pain and swelling is short lived and the area soon returns to (near) normal. The main drawback of eyebrow restoration is cost. As a purely cosmetic procedure, very few (if any) insurance policies will pay for the surgery. Numerous private clinics have payment plans available for those strongly desire the procedure but may not have the immediate funds to pay for it.
