Aftercare

While this is same day surgery and can be performed under local anesthesia, it is still a good idea to arrange transportation after the breast augmentation. The surgeon will recommend that you abstain from certain, more strenuous activities...

for some time after the breast augmentation procedure. Any lifting or activities that involve the use of the chest muscles, which include most activities that involve your arms, should be avoided for several days after the surgery. You will be expected to walk around, perhaps as early as the day of the procedure. Also, you may be required to wear a special support bra for some time after the breast augmentation. Expect to return to the surgeon’s office relatively soon after the procedure and certainly within a week to ten days for suture removal. Most people can return to work within a week of the operation.
