For many people, breast lift surgery results in symmetrical breasts with slightly upturned nipples and areola. In general, mastopexy restores a more youthful appearance to the breast and, once healed, an increased firmness and density. Even under the best of circumstances, there will be visible scars. These scars can vary in appearance from subtle lines to deep creases to heaped ridges in the case of keloids. It is important to have realistic expectations regarding scar formation prior to mastopexy. The overwhelming majority of patients are pleased with the results of breast lift surgery.
