Face
Facial plastic surgery spans the range from facelifts that remove excess sagging skin to rhinoplasty that reshapes the nose. Most procedures achieve their desired effects by either removing original tissue or grafting additional tissue harvested from another area of the body or an outside donor.
BOTOX
For cosmetic purposes, BOTOX® or botulinum toxin injections are used to relax the muscles that cause unwanted wrinkles or lines. As we smile, frown, laugh or make any facial expressions, the muscles around the eyes, lips and eyebrows compress the skin forming furrows and wrinkles. These wrinkles become more prominent with age and tend to persist even when the muscles of the face are not forming any expression. BOTOX® interferes with the ability of muscles to contract and, when injected into these problem areas, can reduce or eliminate wrinkles. While the effect is not permanent, BOTOX® injections can lead to a very noticeable and desirable reduction in wrinkles, making the face appear more youthful and softer. BOTOX® is one of the most popular aesthetic procedures because of its relative safety, cost and ability to “turn back the clock,” if only temporarily.

Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty or surgery of the eyelids is a procedure aimed at altering the size and shape of the upper, lower or both eyelids by removing excess skin and fat. Eyelid surgery can be performed for medical reasons though it is most often performed for a purely aesthetic improvement. Since aging can result in fatty deposits and sagging in the eyelids, the procedure involves removing excess skin and/or fat to achieve a younger appearance for the patient. Blepharoplasty not only improves sagging in the upper eyelid but can also remove “bags under the eyes” which are simply pads of fat. It should be noted that this surgery does not improve wrinkles (e.g. “crow’s feet”) and may not improve the dark circles around the eyes, that often occur from blood that has leaked from broken blood vessels.
