What this site is
Surgery.com is a free information site about cosmetic and plastic surgery. It gives a typical cost for each procedure in the U.S., in every state and in metropolitan areas, shows what published prices say they include, and lists surgeons near you. It also has tools for comparing places, checking what a quote covers and preparing for a consultation.
Nothing on the site is medical advice, and a typical cost is not a quote.
Where the data comes from
- Prices are the ones practices publish on their own websites, or confirm to us directly. Each price is checked against its source before it is used, and every one links to where it came from.
- Typical costs are estimates worked out from those prices and adjusted to local price levels published by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. How we estimate.
- Surgeon listings start from the federal NPPES provider registry. Each profile says what has and has not been checked. How listings work.
- Places — states, metropolitan areas, cities and ZIP codes — come from the U.S. Census Bureau.
